Angela the GeekGirl

My love for computers started back in 1987 with a Tandy computer. Later, I moved up to a 8086 computer running DOS. From there I moved on to a Packard Bell running the Windows 3.1 operating system then to an Acer (emerald green to be exact) running Windows 95. The computers changed but the love remained.

It was with the Acer where I experienced my first gaming experience online, playing hearts against others and chatting during play. As I first really began to tinker and play with operating systems at the Win 3.1 stage, I learned how to fix computers by messing up my own. It was through these techniques that I learned to troubleshoot and repair computers and developed a real love for them.

I have been working on computers for 17 years now, both professionally and personally. My back-up career was in accounting, and many times that would be the job that paid the bills while I did the computer repair on the side. In 2003 I received an online degree in Information Technology from Kaplan College. As an adult learning the book version of the IT world, I realized that I had greater knowledge from experience than from the degree.

I reside in Glenwood Springs, am married to a stock market investor, have 2 children – 1 grown, 1 almost grown, and a grandchild who is the apple of my eye.  I also have a puppy named Jessi who is now my baby.
